JatraBot ("we", "our", "us") operates the JatraBot passenger app and JatraBot Driver app (the "Services"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using our apps, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
From Passengers:
- Name and phone number (for account creation)
- Emergency contact phone number (optional, for SOS feature)
- GPS location (pickup and drop points for booking rides)
- Ride history (trips taken, fares paid)
- Device push notification token
From Drivers:
- Name, phone number, vehicle type (for account creation)
- Real-time GPS location (while online, to match with nearby passengers)
- Ride history (trips completed, earnings)
- Device push notification token
How We Use Your Information
- To match passengers with nearby available drivers
- To calculate fares based on distance
- To send ride status notifications to drivers and passengers
- To enable the SOS emergency feature for passenger safety
- To allow admin to approve and manage driver accounts
- To improve our service and resolve technical issues
- To prevent fraud and ensure platform safety
Location Data
We collect your GPS location only when you are actively using the app:
- Passengers: Location is collected when setting pickup point and tracking your ride
- Drivers: Location is collected every 30 seconds while you are marked Online
- Location data is used only for ride matching and navigation
- We do not sell your location data to third parties
- Location history is stored for 30 days then automatically deleted
Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted on AWS
- API communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Authentication uses JWT tokens with expiry
- We do not store passwords — phone number is your identifier
- Only authorized admin can access driver account information
- We do not store payment card or banking information
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information only when necessary:
- Driver ↔ Passenger: Name and phone number are shared between matched driver and passenger to coordinate the ride
- Google Maps: Location coordinates are sent to Google Maps API for navigation and geocoding
- Expo (Push Notifications): Device tokens are sent to Expo's push notification service
- Admin: Driver details visible to platform admin for approval and management
Your Rights
- Request access to your personal data at any time
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt out of push notifications via phone settings
- Withdraw location permission via phone settings at any time
- Contact us to correct any inaccurate information
Children's Privacy
JatraBot is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
